L. Stephen Vaughan, DDS, MD

Dr. L. Stephen Vaughan is a Board-Certified Oral Maxillofacial and Implant surgeon and a long-standing member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

After graduating with honors from Howard University College of Dentistry, Dr. Vaughan received his post-graduate training in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Medicine at the University of New York at Buffalo. He was selected for this competitive combined training program that included his completion of medical school and associated honors. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Vaughan completed an additional elective training program in Comprehensive and Advanced Implant Dentistry and Surgery at the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry. Dr. Vaughan currently practices at our state of the art surgical suite in Foothill Ranch, California where he and his family also reside in nearby south Orange County.

Dr. Vaughan understands that the selection of an Oral Surgeon and Dental Implant Surgeon is an extremely important decision for both the surgery patient and the referring dentist. With this in mind, he strives to provide each of his patients with both personalized attention and surgical excellence. For referring dentists, he makes every effort to maintain communication and collaboration from initial consultation to case completion. He is well-versed in the most recent oral surgery and periodontal techniques, including Minimally Invasive Oral Surgery so patients have less swelling, less pain and shorter post-surgical downtime.

Meet The Staff

Kim H. – Office Manager -OMSA – CPR/BLS

Kim joined Dr. Vaughan in the spring of 2018. Kim has over 25 years of Oral Surgery experience and truly loves all aspects of managing an Oral Surgery practice. She strives with making the patients feel comfortable. With her combined back and front office experience she can help answer any of the patients questions or concerns. Kim moved here from Northern California and resides in Huntington Beach. She loves spending time with her family and you can find her spending her free time at the beach with her 3 boys and husband.

Carissa – Patient Care Coordinator

Carissa graduated from National University with a Bachelor degree in Allied health. She has been in the dental field for 15 years. Carissa started as a registered dental assistant helping in the back office. Now, her passion is helping in the front where she takes pride in using her years of experience to help patients feel comfortable and at ease from beginning to end. Carissa is on her 6th year with Dr. Vaughan and feels very fortunate to be working with, who she considers, the best Oral Surgeon. When Carissa is not working, she loves spending time with her husband and 3 children. They love to try new restaurants and international foods.

Krissy S. – Surgical Assistant- OMSA-CRP/BLS -DAANCE- Implant Coordinator

Krissy joined our practice in the beginning of 2017. She has been in the dental field since 2014. Krissy was born and raised in Orange County. She enjoys the daily challenges she encounters, her relationships with patients, and ensuring everyone has a smile when they leave. In her free time Krissy enjoys spending time with her family and her two German Shepherds Kona and Colt.

Tammy W. – Surgical Assistant – DAANCE -CPR/BLS -RDA

Tammy joined the practice in 2017 shortly after she graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Tammy works hand-in-hand with Dr. L. Stephen Vaughan during surgery and ensures the highest quality of care in sterilizing and OSHA compliance. Her kind and compassionate nature comforts patients and makes them feel relaxed and welcomed in our office. Tammy enjoys spending her free time at the beach with her loving husband.

Emily F. – Surgical Assistant – OMSA – DAANCE – CPR/BLS

Emily joined our practice in 2021. She has been in the dental field since 2017. She strives every day to continue her education in oral surgery from Dr. Stephen Vaughan. She enjoys ensuring that all her patients feel comfortable and at ease during all of their oral surgery needs. In her free time, Emily enjoys going to Disneyland and spending time with her son, friends and family.

Daisy B. - Surgical Assistant - DAANCE CERTIFIED - OMSA CERTIFIED - PALS CERTIFIED

Joining our team in 2024, Daisy is an Orange County native, and trained at OC Dental Academy. She feels blessed to be working with Dr Vaughan while furthering her education in the dental field. She enjoys the relationships she forms with patients and learning more everyday from the people around her. In her free time, Daisy loves to go to country concerts and spend time with her pets, friends and family!
