Referring Doctors

Dear Doctor,

I am pleased to introduce you to my oral maxillofacial and implant surgery practice. This practice features a very friendly and professional staff and latest in equipment and techniques. We want the pleasure of working with you.

We know there are many surgical specialty practices with whom you may choose to work. This is why we aim to give you the best possible referral experience.

First, we will provide your patients with the best possible surgical experience. We want patients to feel welcome and well cared-for. We will assist them with their paper work, financial and insurance matters. We will pay very close attention to their safety, care and comfort. Also, we will provide close follow-up care, and 24-hour availability for their urgent and emergency care.

Second, we will maintain close, friendly and polite contact with you and your office staff regarding each patient. Telephone, fax, and e-mail can be used to relay urgent information between offices immediately (e.g. emergencies, coordinating patient appointments, curious pathology.) Our written reports, including relevant x-rays and photographs, on your patients' progress will be sent in a timely manner and will detail treatment and recommendations for your records. I personally encourage direct doctor-to-doctor communication whenever needed.

Third, we value education and evidence-based practices because we feel these give our patients better, more predictable outcomes. I and my staff attend continuing education courses to stay current on the latest technology and techniques.

Notably, we will emphasize to your patients the importance and value of overall dental care. We inform our patients that their optimal oral health depends on regular care. We will always encourage your patients to return to you for scheduled maintenance and restorative treatments.

We welcome any questions you may have regarding our services for your patients. We look forward to working with you.

Best regards,

L. Stephen Vaughan, D.D.S., M.D.
