L. Stephen Vaughan, D.D.S., M.D.

L. Stephen Vaughan, D.D.S., M.D. Dr. Vaughan graduated with honors from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. in 1996. He pursued additional training at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY) where in 1999, he received his medical degree; and in 2002 he received his specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Vaughan then entered an outstanding private practice in the suburban Buffalo area. Concurrent with that practice, he was an associate clinical professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the School of Dental Medicine, SUNY; and an attending in the area's leading hospitals, including Sister's Hospital, Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, and Erie County Medical Center.

In March 2005, Dr. Vaughan became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also certified in multiple other areas of dental and medical expertise.

When Dr. Vaughan relocated to Southern California, he practiced with an excellent oral surgery group with three offices in Orange County. He then relocated to Foothill Ranch, California to launch his own practice.

Dr. Vaughan's clinical areas of interest include dental implants, pediatric oral & maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery, trauma surgery, and oral and jaw pathology. He is on the staff at Mission and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. In addition to his surgical specialty training and years of surgical experience, Dr. Vaughan completed an elective continuum of courses at USC on advanced implant restoration and surgery.

Dr. Vaughan is married to Dr. Maryam Pearose, an Irvine native, whom he met while she was completing a pediatric dental residency at SUNY-Buffalo. They, together with their first-born son, reside in south Orange County. His personal interests include raising a family, cycling, running and athletics.
